The elderly population is predicted to increase every year. RI Minister of Health (Minister of Health) Nila Moeloek asks the public to maintain their health before becoming elderly.
Nila said the number of elderly people is assumed to increase. Based on 2013 Bappenas data, the projection of the 2010-2035 Elderly population continues to increase. In 2010 the number of elderly people reached 18.0 million (7.56%), then 25.9 million (9.7%) in 2019, 27.1 million (9.99%) in 2020, 42.0 million soul (13.82%) in 2030, and 48.2 million (15.77%) in 2035.
Elderly people will experience degeneration and will be associated with degenerative diseases. Diseases that are common in the elderly include dementia or Alzheimer's.
"Therefore we must be ready. We hope that before Elderly, we have taken care of our health. "Hopefully when the elderly have no disease, because the cost is getting longer, it can be more expensive if we do not pay attention to health in old age," said Minister of Health Nila.
DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan welcomed the National Elderly Day. He hopes that health programs for the pre-elderly and elderly people can be carried out thoroughly.
Even for DKI Jakarta there is the Jakarta Elderly card program. The card is useful for the elderly to get financial assistance as well as health services.
'' We pick up the ball to come to the house, inspect parents so that their health is handled properly. "Gold services must be given to the elderly, as if the elderly want to withdraw their funds, they must be prioritized," said Anies.
