The Importance of Proper Information in Childcare

Pregnancy is a long-awaited moment and is an unforgettable experience for all women. especially the first pregnancy. After passing through the pregnancy, the mothers will be faced with baby care that is no less challenging. at least until the child is 2 years old.

Although there is now a lot of pregnancy information that can be obtained easily, this does not always help. Precisely with the increasing amount of information about pregnancy and childcare. complete with various theories. often makes prospective parents and new parents confused which one should apply.

Obstetrics and gynecology specialists from the Jakarta Hospital, Dr. Ardiansyah Dara SpOG MKes, explained, a lot of information that has been making women confused about their lives. Not only about basic knowledge of pregnancy such as nutritional needs and growth and development of the fetus. but the many myths about pregnancy are often a source of turmoil for expectant mothers.

"The same thing happens to mothers who have just given birth. Caring for a newborn baby is indeed quite challenging for new parents. In the first week after birth, for example, babies are still very sensitive and vulnerable to exposure to the new environment around them," said Dara in Jakarta, Wednesday (6/26/2019).

Pediatricians from RSAB Harapan Kita, Dr. Lucia Nauli Simbolon SpA, added that parents finally became skeptical about how to care for newborns and were afraid of mistakes.

"In fact, with sufficient understanding, mothers and fathers should be able to care for newborn babies safely," explained Lucia.

Bumil Friends Co-Founder Tiffany Robyn Soetikno explained that she wanted to make it easier for parents to obtain complete and reliable information by launching a book about pregnancy and childcare.

"After launching the Teman Bumil application, which has been downloaded by more than 500,000 Indonesian mothers, we would like to contribute more, by publishing two books on pregnancy and parenting. As an alternative reliable source of information that can be easily shared with husbands or parents," Tiffany explained .

Tiffany added, Pregnancy Without Confusion and Parenting Without Confusion was published to provide complete information about pregnancy and childcare.

"By delivering information that is easy to understand, concise and accompanied by interesting infographics, both books are expected to be a source of information that is very helpful for all mothers in Indonesia," explained Robyn Soetikno.
